Supporting Learning Progress: Identifying & Responding to Support Needs
Course
Learner support as an integral part of effective training and assessment practice
Move beyond common misconceptions that support only applies when learners disclose difficulties or require formal adjustments. Instead, this module focuses on everyday teaching and assessment practices that help learners understand expectations, remain engaged, and progress toward competence.
Designed primarily for trainers and assessors — and highly relevant for managers — this module provides practical guidance on recognising early indicators of support needs, selecting appropriate support strategies, and maintaining clear boundaries between support and assessment. It also addresses the additional complexities of supporting learners in workplace learning environments, where learners may be more vulnerable and support needs less visible.
60 minutes in duration.
