Managing Risk - RTO Manager Series
Activity
RTO MANAGER SERIES 2027 | GOVERNANCE | WORKSHOP 3 OF 30
Turn risk management into a practical decision tool
Use risk management as a decision discipline that helps managers prioritise attention, allocate controls & respond to change.
Detached risk registers do not manage risk. Managers need live information about threats to commitments, controls & escalation thresholds. The management challenge is not simply to have a policy, form or procedure in place... It is to make ownership, decision rights, controls & evidence visible enough that managers can see whether the function is operating as intended & intervene when it starts to drift.
What could prevent the RTO meeting its commitments & how will management know when risk is changing?
Examine where responsibilities sit, what controls should operate, what information management should be able to see & which exceptions or indicators should trigger review, escalation or corrective action.
