Module 1 - Understand the basics

Welcome to the course! AI is rapidly changing how we do business, creating big opportunities for individuals and organisations alike. In this course, you'll learn the basics of using Generative AI in your daily work activities—including how to collaborate with Microsoft Copilot, your AI-powered assistant in Microsoft 365. By the end, you'll be able to define core AI concepts, identify business uses, discuss benefits and challenges, evaluate AI outputs, and confidently apply AI tools to enhance your productivity.

Module 2 - Identify key use cases

In this module, you’ll explore how to use Copilot for quick wins with short prompts, hold productive conversations in chat, work with AI agents and bots, and unlock creative possibilities. We’ll also cover integrating Copilot into your existing workflows, helping you recognise high-impact opportunities to use it effectively in your role.

Module 3 - Practice using the tools

This module gives you hands-on experience applying AI. You’ll practise crafting effective prompts, creating polished written outputs, selecting the right AI tools, and refining results for clarity and impact. From writing professional emails to generating summaries and supporting documentation, you’ll build the confidence and skill to integrate AI seamlessly into your daily workflow.

Module 4 - Evaluate AI's Output

In this module, we will critically evaluate AI-generated output to ensure it’s trustworthy, fair, and accurate. We’ll explore how to identify bias, verify facts, spot common AI errors (including hallucinations), and refine responses for clarity and reliability.

Module 5 - AI Ethics and Challenges

In this module, we'll explore topics such as AI literacy, limitations, data privacy, security, and responsible use. We’ll discuss rights, responsibilities, and organisational AI policies, giving you the knowledge to use Copilot ethically, safely, and in alignment with best practice standards.
