Learning Outcomes
The course explores Fairness as a Principle of Assessment as stated in Clause 1.8 of the Standards for RTOs 2015.
On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Describe the requirements of Fairness as a Principle of Assessment
- Define reasonable adjustment, including what adjustments are reasonable or not reasonable
- Identify a broad variety of reasonable adjustment that may be implemented within the assessment process
- Describe strategies that can be used to select reasonable adjustments to be implemented
- Describe the importance of maintaining the integrity of assessment when implementing reasonable adjustments
- Identify when student support needs should be identified
- Describe the type of information that must be provided to learners prior to assessment being conducted
- Identify ways to gather evidence that a learner has been provided with sufficient instruction prior to assessment
- Describe the importance of feedback in the assessment process
- Describe learner rights in terms of challenging assessment decisions
