- Your learners deserve the best and so do you.
Why ACE Matters
The VET sector plays a critical role in building Australia’s workforce. With recent regulatory changes lowering the entry barrier for trainers to be deemed qualified, there is a growing risk of qualified not always meaning current.
ACE is the annual check-in our industry needs. It provides:
- A credible benchmark
- A trusted yearly verification of professional currency
- A valuable alternative to qualification
- A proactive approach to maintaining trust and excellence
ACE gives you more than a certificate. It gives you confidence and helps keep the sector strong.

Assessment
Learn about the assessment tasks included in the ACE and how these will demonstrate the currency of your skills as a trainer and assessor. The resources that we provide are designed to streamline the process, helping you showcase your expertise with ease.
VET sector essentials
As part of this assessment, you’ll demonstrate your understanding of the VET sector and key compliance requirements through knowledge-based tasks. You’ll start by outlining the purpose of the VET sector and identifying its key stakeholders. You’ll then use Training.gov.au (TGA) to locate and interpret training product information, such as units of competency, packaging rules, and assessment conditions.
Next, you’ll highlight key compliance requirements from the Standards for RTOs (2025), with a focus on assessment practices and trainer obligations. Finally, you’ll apply your knowledge to real-world compliance scenarios, identifying risks and outlining strategies to meet national standards. This assessment ensures you can both understand and apply core compliance concepts in an RTO setting.
Reflect & refine your training practice
In this assessment, you’ll reflect on and refine your training practice through a series of applied tasks. You’ll begin by planning engaging and effective training sessions, demonstrating your ability to structure content and activities that support student learning and participation.
You’ll then explore current digital tools and delivery trends, evaluating how technology can enhance training outcomes in different contexts. Finally, you’ll show how you can adapt your delivery to meet the needs of diverse learners, including strategies for supporting different learning styles, cultural backgrounds, and levels of ability. This assessment ensures you’re equipped to deliver inclusive, engaging, and up-to-date training in a range of environments.
Showcase your training practice
In this assessment, you’ll demonstrate your ability to prepare and deliver an engaging training introduction. You’ll begin by designing a training resource to support the introduction of a chosen unit or topic—this may include a visual aid, activity, or support material that enhances learner understanding.
You’ll then deliver your training introduction, showcasing your ability to create a positive learning environment, clearly communicate key points, and engage your audience. To complete the task, you’ll provide effective learner feedback, demonstrating how you support student progress through constructive, respectful, and actionable responses. This assessment focuses on your ability to plan, present, and respond as a confident and capable trainer.
