Work Health & Safety - Internal Audit Series
Course
Safety systems, duty of care & risk control in practice
Work Health & Safety is often treated as a parallel compliance obligation rather than an integrated part of VET operations. Under the 2025 Standards, WHS is assessed through how effectively providers identify, manage and monitor risks to learners, personnel and others, particularly in training and assessment environments.
This session audits whether WHS arrangements are operating as a living system that actively informs delivery decisions, risk management and continuous improvement. Participants conduct a structured internal audit of WHS systems, focusing on how hazards are identified, risks are controlled and safety is monitored across learning, assessment and work-based contexts.

If WHS risks are not actively monitored and reviewed, they become both a safety issue and a regulatory exposure.

About the Internal Audit Series
Systematic monitoring & evaluation anchored by internal audit.
Under the 2025 SRTO, regulators expect providers to demonstrate active, systematic monitoring & evaluation. Internal audit forms the backbone of assurance. This is now the #1 area of non-compliance identified by ASQA.
The Internal Audit Series is a 12-month, structured internal audit program delivering practical, facilitated audits across all core VET operating functions.
