Course
Purchase for $55.00 (AUD) incl. GST

Explore how to read ASK units as standards & consider an unpacking approach for program & resources development

Understand the new DNA of competency – decode Knowledge, Skills & Application for smarter resource design.

The new Application of Skills & Knowledge (ASK) unit structure provides an alternate model instead of Elements & Performance Criteria with applied knowledge & skills standards. This webinar breaks down how the new format works, what each section means, and how it is applied to design learning and assessment resources.

In this session recorded in December 2025, we explore how to read ASK units as standards & explore an example unpacking & interpretation approach for effective resource design.

Great thanks Phill
Very relevant, informative & interesting session
Every course I have done through vetr has been so helpful & informative

The best part was...

Very clear informative information
Practical & live application of a specific unit
Worked through example & Phill's insights
Scaffolding the unit criteria
The demonstration of the process of unpacking the ASK unit using the template
The presenter was very down to earth & covered the topic in a really logical sequence, explaining the reasoning behind each action along the way
The practical application of unpacking an actual ASK unit in to the document & all of the suggestions & hints
I'm going to one on my units immediately to try & consolidate all of this information
Working through the complexity of the new unit
Although it appeared messy & complex the outcome was a clear understanding of the unit requirements to design the learning resources & assessments. Thank you
