Presenters

Presenter ImageThomas Patterson - Building & Construction Teacher

Thomas is a renowned Building & Construction Teacher at the Outer Northern Trade Training Centre and a Learning Specialist in Teaching and Learning. He holds several qualifications, including a Certificate III in General Construction (Carpentry), Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building), and a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) with First Class Honours.

A qualified carpenter and registered builder, Thomas also owns a construction company, showcasing his deep industry knowledge. He has seven years of teaching experience in both mainstream high school and vocational education and training (VET).

Thomas's excellence in teaching was recognized with the 2023 Victorian Training Awards - VET Teacher/Trainer of the Year and he was the runner-up at the 2023 Australian Training Awards. He was also a finalist in the 2019 TeachX Awards for Innovation in Teaching.

Thomas's unique combination of hands-on industry experience and academic prowess has established him as a prominent and respected figure in both educational and construction circles.
