This session explores key areas of ethical concern with GenAI, and their relevance in education. Areas covered include bias, discrimination, environmental concerns, copyright, privacy, and the use of human labour in creating AI models.

Presenters

Leon Furze - Master of Education, Audit Express

Leon Furze is a consultant, author, and speaker with over fifteen years in secondary and tertiary education and leadership. He is currently undertaking a PhD focused on the implications of Generative Artificial Intelligence on writing instruction and education. Leon has served in various leadership roles, including Director of Teaching and Learning and Head of English, Leon also contributes as a Non-Executive Director to Young Change Agents and Reframing Autism. He completed his Master of Education at the University of Melbourne, specialising in student wellbeing and educational change.

Qualifications
BA(Hons) English and American Literature / PGCE Secondary Teaching / Master of Education / PhD candidate
