Mapping Assessment

Mapping is often the key

In assessment compliance, it is important to be able to show the relationship between the standard you are trying to prove, (from the relevant training product) and the tools you are using to prove someone’s competency in that training product. Mapping is often the key to ensuring that the assessment tools used to assess candidates, cover the entire unit, skill-set or qualification requirements, giving assessors, their RTOs and the regulator confidence in the assessment process.

This session will guide participants through the process of mapping, identifying best practice approaches as well as key areas of concern. It will also provide a variety of mapping tools to support the process.

Key outcomes:

  • Discuss the benefits of mapping in VET

  • Identify best practice mapping processes

  • Explore key steps to ensure robustness of mapping.
