Managing Industry Consultation: How to Build Effective, Systematic Engagement

Course
Registration for this course is currently closed.

Identify different & valid methods of consulting with industry across training & assessment design, delivery, & review

This webinar will present strategies that RTOs can implement to develop more systematic approaches to effectively engage industry and community representatives to provide work-relevant training and assessment, and maintain the vocational skills and knowledge of their trainers. With changes in the regulatory framework, it’s critical for RTOs to ensure consultation is ongoing, meaningful and evidenced across all aspects of their operations.

In this session, you’ll gain practical tools and models for embedding structured and compliant industry consultation into your training and assessment systems. We will explore how to identify the right stakeholders, maintain engagement over time, and document input to inform decisions on training delivery, assessment tools, and workforce development.

You’ll also learn how to align your consultation practices with the revised RTO Outcome Standards 2025, especially Standard 1.2, which requires RTOs to demonstrate how engagement with industry informs the relevance of training and assessment. We’ll examine case studies, tools, templates and checklists that support a whole-of-RTO approach, integrating compliance and continuous improvement.
