No Learner Left Behind - Supporting All Learners in their Journey to Competence
Recognise key steps in the journey to competence
Clause 1.7 of the Standards for RTOs requires RTOs to provide the support learners need to successfully complete the program they enrol in.
In this interactive session, Chemène Sinson will focus on practical implications of Clause 1.7 for educators and assessors. She’ll share recent research about learning and performance, and offer evidence-based practical strategies educators and assessors can use to support learners in their journey towards competence.
Participants are encouraged to come to the session ready to share ideas of their own and take away learnings to implement straight away.
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- recognise key steps in the journey to competence
- recognise common barriers to effective learning
- identify strategies to ensure inclusive and supported learning that leads to competence.
All attendees are asked to please bring paper and pen to the session as they will complete a personal action plan throughout the event.
In doing so, participants will create their own ‘handout’ of useful strategies to support learners, and work toward compliance with Clause 1.7.
